RD16 -  Which Certifications Are Right For My Business?

Presented by: Tim Ronak, AkzoNobel; Greg Griffith; AkzoNobel

It’s no secret the auto manufacturers are becoming more engaged in the collision repair process. Of course they want to sell more parts, but with a large percentage of vehicle owners trading brands soon after receiving collision-related repairs, the manufacturers are even more interested in optimizing the entire collision repair experience for their customers. They want their cars fixed correctly and want their customers to keep driving that car or trade it in for a newer model within the same family. To gain additional control over the experience, the manufacturers are faced with an obvious conclusion – drive the work to a shop where we have more influence and can ensure the cars are repaired to our specifications. That means driving repairs to their own network of dealer-owned or, in many cases, certified privately-owned collision repairers. With this increased emphasis on OE certifications, you might be asking yourself, “Which OE certifications are right for my business?”

Topics include:
• What are my best opportunities?
• Analyzing your current brand mix
• Analyzing your market brand mix
• What makes financial sense?
• Understanding the hard and soft costs associated with certifications
• Calculating your return on investment
• Now that I know which certification(s) make sense for my business, how do I get started?
